Saturday, June 13th was the sixth annual Francesville Fall Festival Golf Outing. Twelve teams met for a day of golf, fellowship and fun at Moss Creek Golf Course and Banquet Center in rural Winamac.

At check-in each team received a Wilson Distance golf ball, golf tees, and a Fall Festival poker chip/ball marker.  The opportunity to “bend the rules’ was also offered as teams could purchase Mulligans and/or a yard stick with 36” to be applied throughout the golf course to any shot that ended up near the hole.

The 2026 championship was a runaway.  Here are the results:

1st Place – Moss Creek Team – Team score 51 (-19)
2nd Place – Ted Schmicker Team – Team Score 56 (-14) (tiebreaker)
3rd place – Josh Pfledderer Team – Team Score 56 (-14)

Skills challenge winners were as follows:

Closest to the pin for men at hole 1 – Matt Garling
Longest drive for men at hole 7 – Shane Yenna
Longest putt for both men and women at hole 12 – JoeEllen Scheffer
Closest to the pin at hole 18 for both men and women – Michael Bathke – $200 winner

At the conclusion of golf, all participants cooled off in the banquet room with an outstanding meal of hamburgers and hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans and cookies.  Awards were presented, the 50-50 winnings were awarded and door prize tickets drawn for the many nice prizes.
